The Ultimate Lower Blue Mountains Wedding Itinerary

The Blue Mountains is an absolutely idyllic place to get married, totally surrounded by nature you are in one of the most scenic spots in all of New South Wales. While bordering on The Blue Mountains and Penrith, places like Glenbrook and Springwood should be celebrated not only as great suburbs for all things food and drink, but to playing host to plenty of wedding venues.

When it comes to planning, let us take you beyond the wedding day. After all, everyone knows a wedding is a three-day party!

Below is a helpful itinerary and guide to get you started on your wedding planning journey. The Local Compass highly recommends calling venues in advance for bookings (especially caterers or venues hosting your pre-drinks or recovery.) You don’t want to miss out!

Day 1 – Day Before the Wedding

Arrival – Brunch or Lunch

So you’ve arrived in the Lower Blue Mountains and it’s not quite time to check in to the accommodation. What better way to kickstart the celebrations by you and your bridal party heading out for brunch. Our top recommendations would be Kickaboom in Glenbrook or Dbl Risteretto in Springwood.

Or perhaps you have organised an Air BnB for the bridal party and are looking to put on some welcome nibbles. In that case, drop in to Con’s Continental Deli for a prime selection of meats, cheeses and other delicious food for your guests to graze on.

Optional – Relaxation Activity

Reset by Astina, a short drive away in Penrith, is a wellness and recovery studio and a perfect place for brides, grooms and their friends and loved ones to just treat themselves to a little relax and unwind ahead of what will be a hectic few days.

Evening – Welcome Drinks

Welcome drinks are just that, a place where your guests can get together, be treated to some food and bubbles, and celebrate the happy couple. Your venue might already be able to host your welcome drinks, however there are a few options in town worth exploring such as Café 2773 for a bigger group of people with chill vibes, or Vincent if you’re after something a little more intimate. Theo’s Rooftop Bar or Sinclair’s (specifically, the balcony option overlooking the Nepean river) are also excellent summer options for a Welcome Drinks party, just a short drive away in Penrith.

If you’d prefer to host a little something at your Air BnB, Con’s Continental Deli has an incredible selection of catering options. They do require notice to prepare, so make sure you organise ahead of time!

Day 2 – Wedding Day

Morning – Breakfast

Getting hair and make-up done is BIG work, and the girls and guys need to remain fuelled throughout the day. Thankfully there is no shortage of options! We recommend contacting Finn and Co Café to organise some breakfast catering, so the girls and guys can stay well fed and caffeinated.

Midday / Evening – Wedding Time!

This one is all you, enjoy and have the day of your dreams!

Day 3 – Recovery

Midday / Evening – Post wedding wind down

There aren’t many venues suitable for a recovery party in the Lower Blue Mountains, however there are plenty in Western Sydney, just a 10 minute drive away! If your wedding is in the summer then Theo’s Rooftop Bar is a perfect place to have a recovery, as is Drink West Brewery for something more relaxed.

There is SO much more to The Blue Mountains area than meets the eye - or makes this list. If you’re after more inspiration check out our other guides for the best recommendations in the area guaranteed to make your wedding day feel that extra bit special.
