Affordable luxury in the Blue Mountains

The Hotel Kyah, a former motel nestled deep within the bohemian town of Blackheath, is your taste of affordable luxury in the ever luxurious Blue Mountains, where grand hotels are aplenty.

Whether it be a girls weekend away, a couples trip, a post-wedding wind down or simply a solo adventure, Hotel Kyah is just an hour and a half drive out of Sydney and the perfect destination if you’re looking for a curated, chic experience on a budget.

So what can you expect when you stay?

Hotel Kyah has three wings, each named after one of Katoomba’s famed Three Sisters, and a total of 46 rooms that can accommodate almost any need for the traveller. While Hotel Kyah has the King Room for couples, there are also two bed bedrooms or a two bedroom suits which include a lounge area if you and your party are wanting a little bit of extra space. If you’re a family, no worries! The Hotel Kyah also has a family suite designed with a master King room and a separate room down a short corridor fitted with a bunk bed., sleeping a maximum of four people.

As for the rooms themselves, they are both comfortable and wonderfully modern while still holding their unique, nostalgic charm.

Need more?

Hotel Kyah isn’t just a place to put your feet up after a long day of exploring, there is plenty for you to enjoy within the hotel as well. On its grounds you have a multi-purpose court, where sports lovers can play tennis or basketball, a hot tub and sauna, a games room, a gym, complimentary e-bikes for guests and their very own ‘mini market’, a cart chock-full of local treats such as chocolate and soaps, all available to purchase.

Dining at Blaq

Hotel Kyah isn’t just a place for you to stay, it also plays host to one of the best restaurants in the Blue Mountains: Blaq.

Blaq’s focus is on modern, seasonal flavours that perfectly blend elements of the Blue Mountains with the Mexican roots of it’s two chefs: Alejandro Huerta and Galia Valadez. Think bold flavours served in laid-back style alongside their signature cocktails - just for an extra special treat. Dinner is open Wednesday to Sunday and lunch is served on weekends only. Happen to be staying at Hotel Kyah on a Monday or Tuesday? Never fret! Still book yourself a table and try their ‘Blaq Out’ menu, a slightly smaller (but no less delicious) selection of flavourful food.

What’s more, for those guests of Hotel Kyah, Blaq bar and terrace is open for breakfast daily and serves a seasonal grazing table along with coffee and tea, and has a light Snack Bar menu offered in the daytime and after hours.

Why The Blue Mountains?

But there is more to the Blue Mountains than just drinking Bilpin cider and eating pastries: it first and foremost is an attraction for nature lovers. Here you can explore, stargaze, hike, horse ride and go truffle hunting. So what are you waiting for? Get planning!
